They write: \u201cGender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world\u201d. The Software Campus also supports equality and diversity within the program, hoping to generate a lasting positive influence beyond the program. A look at the existing commitment of the Software Campus industry and research partners shows that there is already a solid basis for this.  <\/p>\n<h3>Research partners<\/h3>\n<p>All Software Campus research partners show initiative in terms of equality and diversity. On the respective homepages you will find links to specific institutions and information offers such as the FAU\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gender-und-diversity.fau.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Office for Gender &amp; Diversity<\/a>, the TU Dresden\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/tu-dresden.de\/tu-dresden\/organisation\/rektorat\/prorektor-unientwicklung\/stabsstelle-diversity-management\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Staff Unit Diversity Management<\/a> or the TUM <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chancengleichheit.tum.de\/startseite\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Equal Opportunity Unit<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chancengleichheit.tum.de\/gender-equality-office\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Gender Equality Office<\/a> of the TU Munich.   In addition, the TU Darmstadt awards the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intern.tu-darmstadt.de\/media\/dezernat_ii\/studium_und_lehre\/athene_preis\/athene_preis_handreichungen\/Konkretion_Vergabe_des_Sonderpreises_G__D_gerechte_Lehre.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Athene Special Prize for \u201cGender- and Diversity-Sensitive Teaching\u201d<\/a>. The TU Berlin offers a wide range of information and participation opportunities within the framework of the subject area <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gender-diversity.tu-berlin.de\/gdo\/gender_und_diversity_in_der_technik_und_produktentwicklung\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Gender and Diversity in Technology and Product Development<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genderpromint-zifg.tu-berlin.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Gender pro MINT<\/a> initiative. In addition to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-paderborn.de\/universitaet\/genderportal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Gender<\/a> Portal, the University of Paderborn also has the initiative <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uni-paderborn.de\/universitaet\/fgi\/ueber-uns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Women shaping the information society<\/a>, which offers various services for female students in the MINT field. The Department of Mechanical Engineering also has a newly established Department of <a href=\"https:\/\/mb.uni-paderborn.de\/technikdiversity\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Technology and Diversity<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Industry partners<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Some of the Software Campus industry partners are also promoting equality and diversity on their websites, in their corporate governance reports or through events. For example, Holtzbrinck and DATEV took part in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.charta-der-vielfalt.de\/diversity-tag\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Diversity Day<\/a> of the Diversity Charter 2020.  Merck\u2018s CFO Marcel Kuhnert speaks out in favor of diversity in the \u201cpro\u201d interview: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.merckgroup.com\/de\/pro\/articles\/diversity-makes-us-more-successful.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u201cDiversity makes us more successful.\u201d.<\/a> Under the headline \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.huawei.com\/en\/about-huawei\/sustainability\/win-win-development\/develop_love\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Caring for Employees<\/a>\u201d, Huawei publishes figures on the \u201cWorkforce Diversity\u201d and writes \u201c[\u2026] we emphasize gender equality in employment and prohibit gender bias, in strict compliance with all applicable international conventions as well as local laws and regulations\u201d. IAV has \u201cestablished a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iav.com\/app\/uploads\/2019\/02\/IAV_Nachhaltigkeitsbericht_2018-2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">sponsorship model<\/a> that is designed to prepare women for a new leadership role at an early stage\u201d. At Volkswagen, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.volkswagenag.com\/de\/news\/stories\/2018\/11\/diversity-wins.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Diversity Management<\/a> ensures fair and prejudice-free HR processes and trains managers, e.g. as part of the \u201cdiversity wins @ Volkswagen\u201d initiative to overcome unconscious prejudices.<\/p>\n<p>In the current report by the AllBright Foundation <a href=\"https:\/\/static1.squarespace.com\/static\/5c7e8528f4755a0bedc3f8f1\/t\/5edf9b7cb76f5f02ba289ba9\/1591712648429\/AllBrightBericht_Juni2020_Familienunternehmen.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">\u201cDie deutschen Familienunternehmen: TRADITIONSREICH UND FRAUENARM\u201d<\/a>, Merck and Trumpf stand out as positive examples, as unlike many other family-owned companies, they have women in their management positions: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.trumpf.com\/de_DE\/unternehmen\/trumpf-gruppe\/geschaeftsfuehrung\/dr-phil-nicola-leibinger-kammueller\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Nicola Leibinger-Kamm\u00fcller<\/a> (CEO, Trumpf) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.merckgroup.com\/de\/company\/who-we-are\/management\/executive-board\/belen-garijo.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Bel\u00e9n Garijo<\/a> (CEO Healthcare, Merck).<\/p>\n<h3>Software Campus<\/h3>\n<p>The Software Campus is looking forward to a lively exchange and close cooperation with its partners to promote equality and diversity in industry and research in the field of information technology. Therefore, the consortium has decided to focus more on the networking of current female participants and alumni. Furthermore the new training course \u201cDiversity \u2013 successfully leading diverse teams and encouraging potential\u201d was added to the existing training program.
